This temple is a premier Hindu temple of Punjab situated in the city of Amritsar. This temple derives its name from the Goddess Durga. This temple holds a prominent place in the Hindu history as it is believed that Lord Rama visited this place during one Ashwamedh Yagya when he was the king of Ayodhya. This temple was the worshipping place for Saint Valmiki, who writes the epic Ramayan.

Ram Tirath Temple                         

It is thought that the temple is built on the spot where Ramayana was written by Valmiki. People say that this is also the same place where Ram and Sita's twin sons were born. The temple has statues depicting important scenes from the epic - Ramayana. Another prime attraction of Ram Tirth in Amritsar is its four day long fair which is organized from a long time.
